A design decision was made to include heating wires in the running rail and all switches in climates where snow accumulation and primarily ice, rain or re-icing could be a problem. Snow removal from the vehicle will be handled in the following manner:

a) aerodynamic top surfaces with minimum horizontal sections;

b) snow sweepers, accumulation limiting snow scrapers and hot air blowers incorporated into the carwash system and station areas.

A first generation Aerobus has successfully operated in severe winter climates in Ste. Anne, Quebec. No fundamental problems were identified for severe winter operations.
