The height of the Aerobus vehicle suspended below the cable (or rail) is designed to be 13 ft. (3.96 meter); the width of the vehicle is 9 ft. 8 in. (2.95 meter).

The cable-suspended or fixed-rail guideway consequently must not be less than 13 ft. (or 4 meters) above the required clearance. Thus, to provide adequate clearance, the guideway must be 29 feet above the road surface to allow 16 feet of clearance under the vehicle. In cases of typical ground overpasses, the guideway must be at least 49 ft. above the ground. As a rule of thumb, one must add approximately 20 ft. for clearing any additional level of overpasses.
