The Aerobus cable technology, of course, is fundamentally different from the ordinary Cable-Car Technologies of Alpine and amusement park applications. From the above answers, it is readily clear that the best application of Aerobus is in long line-haul situations which move large numbers of people with frequent service. Many curves, which other technologies would have to follow, may be completely eliminated by Aerobus' ability to cross obstacles, with extraordinarily (for transit) long spans of elevated lines.

Both the Westinghouse and UTDC systems, in Tampa and Vancouver respectively, started out as two station shuttles and now have been logging many millions of vehicle miles over many multi-station line deployments. There is no fundamental reason why Aerobus could not duplicate this capability.
